Preserve your precious memories permanently on DVD
Over time, videotapes degrade as does the quality of the events recorded on them. By transferring your videotaped occasions to high-quality, long-lasting DVDs, you can relive your special memories for a lifetime.
DVD provides exceptional picture quality and durability over videotape formats. If properly cared for, it is predicted that a DVD will last more than a 100 years. Since your videotape is transferred onto DVD as digital information, your precious memories will NEVER wear out. No matter how many times you play the disk, you will never experience one bit of picture quality loss.
A high-quality, long lasting DVD of your family memories also makes a great gift idea!
Your transfer will be onto a DVD-R.
Chapter points will be placed approximately every three minutes. Chapter points enable you to immediately advance or return to specific points in your DVD.
Your videotape will be transferred as received. Any blank portions, glitches, etc. on your videotape will also be in the DVD version. Digital editing is available. See our additional services for including digital editing in your transfer.

- How will the DVD work?
Place your DVD in your DVD player and close the drawer. A Menu will appear with Thumbnail Images for your to navigate. To skip from one chapter point to another, simply hit the NEXT or BACK button on your DVD remote control. With the durability of DVD, you can freeze-frame, fast forward, reverse, and view at variable speeds without fear of damaging your DVD.
- Will my DVD play on my DVD player?
DVD-R disks are used for transferring your images to DVD. In order to take advantage of this technology, your DVD player MUST be compatible with DVD-R. 99% of DVD players manufactured in the past two years will play your DVD transfer. Please check your DVD player manual for compatibility or contact the manufacturer.
- What is DVD-R?
DVD-R is a disk onto which information (your video) can be written. Think of it as the same type of CD-R you may use to copy music files on your computer, however, the DVD-R can hold much more data.
- My videotapes run up to 2 hours and 5 minutes, will I loose that extra 5 minutes?
No you won’t! Because we utalize the (VBR) process for converting video to DVD, we can normally get almost two hours and 6 minutes of video and keep the same high quality. You won’t loose any of your memories!
- Can I add more video to my DVD later?
Sorry, once a DVD-R is “burned,” it is no longer editable or appendable.
- I have an editing program on my PC, can I edit the files on the DVD?
The files on your completed DVD are not editable. If you want editable files you may want to consider having us transfer your film and/or videotape to .avi (most popular) or another type of video file. We can accomidate whatever editing needs you may have.
- I have two videotapes the total less than two hours, that I need to convert to DVD. One is “standard 4×3 screen” and the other is “16×9 widescreen”. Can they both be put onto the same DVD?
Yes we can. We will author your DVD so that your DVD Menu will have two (thumbnail) windows. Click on the window of the video that you want to view and it will automatically play back at the proper size on your TV.
